Bedroom Make Over

You're probably wondering why our bed is in the middle of our living room in this picture. A few days ago I decided it was time to finally paint our bed and bedside table to match the room's new color scheme, so this is where our bed ended up.

It was actually kind of fun and exciting because we could watch movies in bed at night, which is always a treat for us since we don't have a TV in our bedroom. 

Here is what our bedroom was left looking like, and here is how our bed looks painted black.

This is what the room looked like before with the bed and bedside table painted blue and with the old pillows and comforter.

And here it is now. As you can see the bed and bedside table are now black, I moved "the kiss" inspired painting to the wall on the right, and there are new pillows. The front grey and white pillow I bought from Target on sale last year, the two yellow pillows with shell buttons were a wedding gift that used to be in the living room, and the two grey pillows behind those I made.

And after. I don't have a good shot of this angle after I painted the bed and hung the pictures on the shutter so ignore the blue bedpost and picture frames on the dresser.

I'm almost done with the room, there are just a few more things I'd like to do before I'm officially finished with it.

• Make new lamp shades that are barrel shapped with a green pattern on them to tie in with the green on the dresser
• Add another grey stripe to the bottom of the curtains so they aren't high waters
• Add some length onto the bed-skirt so that it hides all of the under bed storage better
